If you were assisted with designing your experiments, carrying out the work, thinking up, or with material supplied by someone as a favor, you have to acknowledge these facts and the material provided, the service supplied, or whatever else in the acknowledgments section of your paper. This section should be placed between the discussion and the bibliography. If someone helped you by reviewing your drafts, you should also mention it here.
In the same section, or in another specific one called “funding”, you have to explain who gave the funds that permitted to finance the study. If the study was funded by a grant and each person involved in the study had a personal grant, you have to give the reference of the grants and the name of the funding institutions.
In the disclosures, you have to state if there are financial conflicts of interest to declare, for example if a pharmaceutical company financed part of the study and could benefit from the publication of the paper.
